I have contemplated watching the Burst series for a while as I did think Shu looked cool I just was not into the design of the other characters. But as people say don't judge a book by its cover cause I actually ended up having an emotional attachment to the characters like this one guy said he was going to retire and it actually upset me cause he was pretty well executed. I think the series does a really good job with each characters quirks which makes seeing all the unique face offs that much more interesting. The protagonist Volt will invent a new technique on the spot but won't have it mastered for his next battle so has to practice to master it which to me personally was more compelling than the other protagonists getting buffs. Also something I love about a team tournament is the fact the strongest team member won on opposing teams as previous Beyblade series had them lose to a protagonist, but this series had them win to build up the individual tournament which was smart.
Now for Burst Evolution, I actually enjoyed it more for example the introduction of Free the guy who is ranked Number 1 as he is a very interesting character. I like how the shows suggest he carries his team and he eventually leaves because he seems to want to pass on the torch to Volt who did struggle on the bigger stage but fights through for his team. Also I love a concept they have called the Big 5 who are the best in the world and could pretty much destroy most bladers in the series, shown by having two of them blow through the protagonists with ease. I'm on episode 30 but I'm so sad the next episode is not dubbed cause I can't wait to see a character called Ren battle (who is a Big 5 member) cause he looks so cool and Volt potentially beating him will make it feel like he has reached the next level of skill.
Absolutely love both series, and I'm excited for when I get to continue series 2 :3.
